Land Translated at The Idea Kitchen
Exhibition Overview
Land Translated brings together four area artists—Marcy Cohen, Christopher Jones, Jessica Porter, and Teresa Waterman—who each explore their visual vocabulary to interpret landscape. On view at The Idea Kitchen from November 1, 2025, through January 31, 2026, the exhibition invites visitors to experience a fresh perspective on land, light, and atmosphere, witnessed through the changing hours from dawn to night.
The show’s progression unfolds over a single day. Paintings and photographs are installed to guide viewers from the brightness of morning, through the subtle rhythms of day, into the quiet and mystery of night. Each artist treats the landscape not simply as a scene to be depicted, but as a catalyst for personal, experimental, and continually evolving expression.
Christopher Jones uses dynamic painting to translate visible phenomena into metaphor.
Teresa Waterman’s work follows the understated hush of silence through photography.
Jessica Porter blends abstraction and place, using vivid color and sharp lines to evoke memory and sensation.
Marcy Cohen’s photographs embrace intuition, perception, and transformation—creating images that reveal new ways of seeing.
