Collaborative Making and Ice Cream Sundae Solidarity!

Join Allison and the Mother Creatrix Collective for a day of collaborative artmaking (and ice cream!) as part of The Future Belongs to the Loving at MAPSpace!

"Gathering Threads of Care" A Collaborative Beginning.

The Mother Creatrix Collective's collaborative workshop transforms donated bed sheets—each carrying intimate histories of comfort and healing—into strips through a meditative, communal labor that mirrors traditional practices of material repurposing. This preparatory ritual becomes a foundation for building community support networks, as participants share knowledge, guidance, and stories while working together with focused intention. The strips serve as both tangible materials and symbolic beginnings of wider circles of connection, contributing to the Bed Sheet Crochet Circle planned for 2026 at The Old Stone House in Brooklyn. Through this intentional gathering and transformation of everyday materials, the project illuminates how support networks naturally emerge from small acts of sharing, creating an expanding tapestry of community care and shared purpose.
